About the team

You will report to the Technical Director Curriculum Learning (= Secondary Education), and you will be member of the Learning Technology Management Team. In this management team you align with managers from our other tech-domains about broader topics within our European organization.

Within the Product Engineering Centre (PEC) itself, focusing on Secondary Curriculum Learning solutions, you are also member of the ‘PEC team’. This ‘PEC team’ gives direction to our strategic objectives but also to the execution of a successful delivery of our digital products. You will be responsible for the people management of roughly 45 skilled and motivated professionals (25 internals / 20 externals). Those professionals are divided into four teams and are located in Den Bosch (NL), Helsinki (FI) and Wommelgem (BE).

Key job responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily and the regular HR-affairs of our professionals. This all with the support of our local HR business partners
  • Responsible for the personal development and well-being of our skilled professionals and be a true mentor for them
  • Being open, transparent, and accessible for everybody to be able to build a trustworthy relationship with all of them
  • Creating, from own and proven experiences, the ‘best working place’ for our people
  • ‘Be an ambassador’ of your own strong vision for setting up a good tech culture
  • Create a long-term strategic sourcing & employee retention plan and start executing on this plan
  • Responsible for the relationship management with our strategic sourcing partners; supported by our procurement colleagues and / or our central sourcing experts
  • Keeping track on the budgets for our staffing and for all our product spends

 Job requirements

  • A Bachelor or Master degree
  • Experienced people manager with 5-10 years of experience in a complex IT-organization
  • Strong own vision about building the best Tech Culture for Agile teams
  • Proven people management in an international organization with different cultures
  • Sharp eye for individual needs and good sense for team dynamics
  • Open personality and easily able to generate trust to your people
  • Easily accessible for your people and be a sparring-partner for them
  • Experiences with ‘strategic sourcing’ and ’strategic employee retention’ is a big pré
  • Ability to deliver high quality documents needed for decision making
