Sanoma celebrates the International Happiness at Work Week from 20–24 September. At Sanoma, one of our sustainability goals is to be an inspiring workplace for our valued people. By participating in the Happiness at Work Week, Sanoma wanted to give special attention and time to wellbeing at work.

What does happiness at work mean to you?

The activities organised throughout the week brought together employees across Europe to focus together on inspiration and wellbeing. Sessions varied from yoga and mindfulness to a keynote speech from Griet Deca, Chief Happiness Officer at Tryangle, leading the participants to reflect on the central question: what does happiness at work mean?

With the 10.000 steps challenge in the Sanoma Walk Challenge, collectively 62 million steps have been taken (and counting!) while employees enjoyed nature and competed with – and against – each other. But also connecting in network carrousels – a three minute speed date with international colleagues –  or discussing happiness at work in a Wonder.me session to share views and to engage with each other. And much more.

A great workplace that promotes wellbeing

Building an equal and inclusive workplace that promotes wellbeing is embedded in Sanoma’s sustainability strategy. This international week is an inspiring opportunity to take the time to reflect on what happiness at work really means to each of us, but also to take practical actions towards increasing wellbeing and connecting with colleagues across country boarders.
