With nearly two decades of experience in IT across multinational companies, Jesús Alumbreros brings strategic insight and a collaborative spirit to his role as Digital Delivery Manager at Sanoma Spain. He leads the Digital team in planning and publishing digital products, working across departments to spark innovation and support new business models.
Jesús joined Sanoma in January 2024, drawn by the opportunity to contribute to education and make a meaningful impact. “I wanted to bring my experience to a sector that directly impacts society,” he explains.
His motivation comes from leading talented professionals and driving digital transformation that serves teachers, students, and families.
A culture that supports well-being and growth
Outside of work, Jesús is a devoted father of two, passionate about sports, travel, and spending time with family and friends. “Sharing experiences with the people I love is my true passion,” he says.
One of the main reasons Jesús chose Sanoma was its commitment to employee well-being and work-life balance. “Being able to balance my family role with my work role was essential,” he shares.
Flexible hours and hybrid work enable him to stay present for his children while performing at his best professionally. “The ability to organise my work with flexible hours and work from home three days a week was key,” he says.
This balance allows him to take his children to school, help with homework, and still meet professional goals. His advice? “Plan your work, delegate, empower your team, and make time for family.”
After a year at Sanoma, Jesús has also experienced firsthand the company’s support for internal growth. Sanoma prioritises internal promotions and seeks to provide employees with meaningful opportunities to advance. “Having this chance was very motivating. Five months later, I’m proud of our progress in teamwork, communication, and achieving objectives.”
Driving impact through collaboration
Jesús’s role is deeply collaborative, involving process optimisation, cross-country knowledge sharing, and engagement with educators and public institutions.
“Visiting schools, talking to teachers, and working with public administration gives me a deeper understanding of education in Spain. Our work has a real impact on millions of children across Europe.”
He lives by the Henry Ford quote: “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.”
His advice for newcomers? “Education is complex but fascinating. Our work at Sanoma shapes the future for generations to come.”
Fun Fact
Jesús enjoys cooking as much as eating—and isn’t afraid to experiment. “If I don’t take risks with flavours, I can’t proudly show off my culinary failures. Mango and anchovies, for example, are surprisingly good together!”
